Forgotten Glory

Though I’ve never watched it regularly, I’ve always been a fan of Saturday Night Live. (I feel like that is the case for many people.) But every once in a while, some exceedingly hilarious sketch or digital short goes viral and becomes immensely popular and well known. Such was the case for the Cowbell sketch, Lazy Sunday, and Dick in a Box. Such was NOT the case, however, for the following video:

This sketch, from the 2005 Eva Longoria/Korn episode, was the very last one of the show (which conveys what the writers thought of it.) However, along with Kristen Wiig’s brilliance as Judy Garland in Vincent Price’s Thanksgiving Special, it was my favorite moment of the episode. Unfortunately, since no one else seemed to like it, I found it incredibly hard to track down the video online. For three years, I lived in turmoil, unable to have what I wanted most in life.

But then, fate* stepped in and delivered me a copy of the sketch on some weird South Korean website. My life has been given meaning again. And so I now share this forgotten video with you all:

Helga Englehart and her Three Living Brothers **

You’re quite welcome***

(side note: I’m actually really excited that Neil Patrick Harris will be hosting SNL this week)

**Sorry for the inconvenience of having to click a link to watch it. I tried to embed the video into the actual post oh so many times but it refused to work.

***Or if you didn’t like it, I’m sorry.

“I read your blog. It’s not terrible.”

Well, “not terrible” IS what I strive for…
